Tithing-Give me a biblical explanation of what Old Testament tithing is please. Use scriptures?

I understand the Old and New Testament never to be money. It was just produce land, crops etc.. where do we get the idea it is currency? It was also to be for the poor, widows and orphans from what I understand.

Deuteronomy 14:8-29
Details: I'm Jewish
.

I think that you know the facts as well as I do. I wrote some notes on tithing recently:

First, it was mandatory - Numbers 18:21

Second, there is not one example of money ever being tithed

Tithing was agrarian;
Leviticus 27:30-32, the tithe of the land (anything grown)
Deuteronomy 14:22-23 the tithe of the herd or the flock

*****

There is no tithing in the New Testament
