Should English people do better?
Scotland, Ireland and Wales all have their own patron Saints.
However:
The English have chosen St George, who is already the patron Saint of the following countries
Ethiopia
Georgia
Greece
Palestine
Portugal
Russia
He is also the patron saint of Aragon and of Catalonia, so all of those English tourists wearing St George crosses in Ibiza, Majorca, and Menorca are all wearing the local flag (which most of them don't even realise)
St George is also patron saint of Moscow and Beirut.
Should England be expelled from the United Kingdom until they show some originality, and get themselves their OWN PROPER SAINT? (preferably one who existed).
What's more, St George is a third class saint!
How about St Cuthbert? He really existed and had a good English pedigree. As a bonus, the name Cuthbert is particularly difficult for non-English speakers to pronounce.
