Egypt assignment?

Hey guys i need some help with my egpt assignment!!!
First of all the scarab bettle was placed on the mummy's tomb, but what was the purpose for it to protect or help with?

Number 2 The eye of Horus was ALSO placed on the tomb...what was its purpose?

The scarab and the wadjet or eye of Horus are among the many amulets that were placed on various parts of the mummy during the process of bandaging.
These signs of ritual significance were also found drawn onto the linen strips used as bandaging along with verses of The Book of The Dead and The Book of Gates.
The significance of the scarab or khepror is that it was thought to carry the powers of self regeneration and was thought of as life giving
The scarab beetle was closely associated with the sun and the beetles habit of making a ball of mud to lay its eggs in was seen as symbolic of the motions made by the daily passage of the sun across the sky.
The fully formed scarab beetle was seen emerging from a ball of mud and like the frog was thought by the ancient Egyptians to need no mate and self regenerated its species. In addition special prayers or pleas to the gods would be written on the underside of the amulet as would the cartouche of the ruling pharaoh often be found.Amulets known as heart scarabs are often found placed on the chest of the mummy as special protection of the heart which was often left insitu during the process of mummification due to its being seen as the home of the Ba and the Ka as well being as the organ most associated with life
The scarab amulet was not only confined to funerary rites it was also used to commemorate significant events such as marriages.
As an amulet it depicted regeneration and acknowledgment of the powers and motions of the sun god Amun Ra. .
This is a practice still carried out in modern Egypt but the ritual significance no longer exists outside it being seen as a symbol of good luck and prosperity.
The eye of Horus is always the right eye,the left being thought of as the eye of Ra the supreme god who was depicted by and associated as the sun and therefore the eye of Ra is always made of gold.
While the eye of Horus is always made of silver as it is also closely related in significance to the moon.
The god Horus was the protector of the throne and in Egyptian mythology he is seen as the rightful heir to the throne of Egypt. Pharaohs always took a Horus name in addition to their own when attaining the throne.
The wadjet is a protective amulet and is seen as the healthy eye that will safeguard its wearer against the powers of ill intent.
According to Egyptian mythology the left eye of Horus was restored to Horus by his mother the Goddess Isis. Mythology tells of how he lost it during one of the many battles he fought to secure the throne of Egypt against his uncle the god Set, who was the god of chaos and disorder.
As the deceased was thought to face many trials during his journey to the after life the eye of Horus or wadjet was included in the funerary goods and as an amulet placed among the bandaging the accompanied him as a sign that the god Horus would protect the deceased during this journey to the shores of Amenti, the underworld that was presided over by the father of Horus the god Osiris.
