Do you know what the symbols on this ring mean? (Roman/Latin/etc?)?
My Mom got a ring recently that has "Carpe Diem" ("Sieze the Day") inscribed on it with 8 different symbols and a row of numbers inside the band that look similar to this: (They are all lined up with a line seperating the 12...)
7 6 5 4 3 2 1 |
5 6 7 8 9 10 11 | 12
From what I have read, I believe the numbers to represent the days of the week. If you add the top and bottom row of numbers together each one equals 12 - and the Romans counted their week backwards and established 12 hours for day and 12 hours for night. This is just my assumption, but if you have the actual answer, we would love to know!
As far as the symbols go, we have found several other "Carpe Diem" rings listed online but these all have the symbols for the Roman days and the symbols on this ring do not resemble these at all.

Were you born in November?
They look a bit like zodiac symbols.
