could you help me edit my poem?

my teacher says i need a different word for miniscule (small) and that i should add another line on the last stanza PLEASE HELP I HAVE TOTAL WRITERS BLOCK!!!

Perched atop the lush mount
Sits the long-serving lieutenant,
Keeping watch over
The miniscule, terracotta houses.

At a distance, long stalks
Topped with golden kernels
Whip around the field
Like rattle snakes searching for prey.

All seem to fear
The sun's looming presence,
Suspended above them
While growing closer still
(this is where i need to add another line) thanks so much!!!

Rather than add another line to the last stanza I would add a two line stanza. And with punctuation, you either need to use it throughout the poem or not use it at all. I don't know why all seem to fear the sun. Perhaps explain that with your last lines? And I dunno about 'while growing closer still.'
