Why'd the KJ Translators use the Greek by Catholic Priest Erasmus, while ignoring a 500 AD Text at Cambridge?

Namely Uncial D. Donated to Cambridge in 1581. It has the Gospels, and Acts.

The Erasmus manuscripts all dated from after 1000 AD. Namely, Miniscules 1(eap), 1(ap), 2(e), 2(ap), 4(ap), and 7b.

It hardly matters what they used. The translators appointed by King James were so poorly schooled in the ancient languages that they made more than 3,500 translational errors, making the KJV the poorest translation still in common use. They would have made such errors regardless of which texts they were translating from.

Who else would translate the Hebrew phrase for "horned beasts" as "unicorns" (yep, it's in the KJV!) instead of the correct translation - oxen - found in every other version of the Bible?
